A loan helped to buy fingerlings.

He Muong 19 Group's story

Hoa is 37 years old and has been a farmer since she was very little. She lives with her husband and her two children in a small, traditional Thai house in Vietnam's northwest mountains. Her son studies in high school, and her daughter studies in secondary school.

Like other villagers, Hoa's family gets their main income from agricultural production with some small-scale activities such as growing rice and corn and raising fish, chickens, ducks and pigs.

In order to have enough money for the family's daily expenses and to pay for her children to go to school, she wants to expand the breeding scale by buying more fingerlings [young fish] to raise.

To get the money for that, she borrowed a loan from Anh Chi Em. This was the third time she borrowed. Hoa hopes that, with her six years of experience in fish raising, as well as the continued support of Anh Chi Em, the profits will be there so she can better support her family.
