Maria Fernanda's story

Maria Fernanda and her family live in Picoazá, a place known for its trade and religious festivals. Picoazá is also known as a producer of vegetables, legumes, and tropical fruit, and it is the center of progress as the main site for informal trading in Manabí.

Maria Fernanda is an informal trader; she makes sales trips throughout different areas offering shoes, sheets, towels, and curtains. She buys these products directly from the distributors that give her good prices so that she can make some economic gains. Maria Fernanda sells to her clients on a credit basis with weekly payments. Some of her clients are unable to pay because some have lost employment, and others have passed away.

This loan is to buy towels, sheets, curtains, etc. Her dream is to have her own store to continue running her business, which she enjoys. Maria Fernanda also wants her family to be healthy.
