Cerapio's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to invest in a bulk purchase of sheep's wool, alpaca wool and other raw materials.

Cerapio's story

Cerapio is an artisan from Peru who specializes in handwoven wool rugs and tapestries. He would like to invest in a bulk purchase of sheep's wool, alpaca wool, and other raw materials. Cerapio has been selling through NOVICA since 2000. This is his story: Peruvian artisan Cerapio was forced to leave his home in Ayacucho during the 1980s. "Terrorists were bleeding my people to death and there seemed to be little hope. I inherited my passion for weaving from my parents and grandparents. But the quality of my work is the result of my long experience, and the product of my careful observation over the years. I draw inspiration from our ancient Peruvian cultures, Andean village life, and from our snow-capped mountains." "I want you to know that I am very grateful for your help; in difficult times we still see good people. With this loan, I will buy material to make tapestries and more pieces to be able to have my catalog up to date and stock at hand."
