Denis's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt, and maize flour to sell.

Denis's story

Denis is 25 years old and lives in the town of Packwach in the Nebbi region of Uganda. He is married and has 4 children who are all currently in school. For the past 4 years, Denis has been working hard to manage his retail shop, which sells essential items like sugar, salt, cooking oil, and soft drinks.

To help expand his business, Denis has requested a loan of 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more sacks of sugar, salt, and maize flour to sell. This will help Denis to generate greater profits, repay the loan on time, and also provide for his family's basic needs. Denis hopes that in the future, he will be able to expand the business into a wholesale shop.

Denis is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Denis who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
