A loan helped To move her restaurant to newer, more central location.

Ena Del Socorro's story

Ena opened her eatery business 16 years ago. She used her savings from a previous cooking assistant job at a small local restaurant. It is here where she learned how to cook traditional dishes. Little by little her business has been growing. It now provides income not only for her family, but she also employs 10 people. She started by buying a bain-marie pot and an industrial kitchen for her first spot on the local market. Today, she makes up to 300 plates of food a day. The key to her success is the quality of her food and her customer service. All of her clients consider her to be kind, helpful, and happy. She now requests a loan from MiCrédito and Kiva to buy raw materials in bulk, such as beans, rice, sugar, fruits, and vegetables. She will also use the loan to move into a new space in a more central location in the community to create job opportunities and contribute to the country's economy.
