Loata's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy building materials and the inventory to continue a canteen selling groceries and fuels.

Loata's story

Somehow, it is in the aftermath of a natural disaster that people realize the simple things of life such as kindness, and the importance of the basic needs to survive. These may include shelter, clothing and the daily sustenance of food and water.

For many rural dwellers, a life of comfort is unnecessary as they live harmoniously with Mother Nature. It is commonly said that to live in the village doesn’t require the normal economic activities of buying and selling as many get their sustenance from their natural environment.

However, as modernization and lifestyle changes have been inevitable, even rural dwellers have experienced changes to a certain degree. This is clear in their dietary patterns and gone are the days when a meal was prepared from produce from the farm or a catch from the sea.

Being mindful of this, Loata hopes to continue her canteen business. She needs a loan to buy building materials to repair her home, and to buy inventory of groceries, fuels and cyclone-ready items such as torches, batteries and bottled water.

She is self-confident in her business being profitable as she would aid her community and the disaster responders with their daily essentials.
