Raijeli's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy building materials, food ingredients, cooking utensils/equipment, and takeaway containers for a food pack business.

Raijeli's story

Pictured next to her damaged home, this grandmother of seven still puts on a brave face. Raijieli’s family was devastated when Tropical Cyclone Yasa swept through the Northern islands of Fiji, leaving many homeless, their livelihoods destroyed. However, Raijieli has been at the forefront of recovery efforts as she has been encouraging members of her community, offering moral support and praying for her relations who have suffered the most.

The aftermath has also given rise to emergency conditions in which they cut water and electricity off, roads are being closed with the national curfew still in place, and this has made it difficult for emergency provisions being accessible to the affected, injured and relief workers.

Raijieli has therefore taken matters into her own hands as she seeks a loan to repair her home and continue her food business, which will play a pivotal role in ensuring that recovery work continues with no hinderances.

She plans to buy building materials, ingredients, cooking equipment/utensils, and takeaway packs. These resources will ensure that her home-based food packs business is back on track, as proper nutrition is crucial in the efforts of the community and relief workers to recover.

Nothing is more beautiful than the smile that has struggled through the tears, and it is her hope that her business will bring a smile to her customers' faces.
