Edna's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs so that she can improve her banana crop farm, thus making more income to support her family.

Edna's story

Edna is a 45-year-old mother living in Kapsowar, a region that has a history of regular rainfall patterns and this has a direct connection with good agricultural production. She has farmed for the past five years.

Edna is requesting this loan to buy farm inputs so that she can improve her banana farm, thus making more income to support her family. Unlike banks and other local money lenders who operate mainly in urban centres, Juhudi Kilimo (a Kiva field partner) has extended its operations to the most remote areas of Kenya, creating opportunities for different people to access loans.

A loan to Edna will be a proper way of uplifting her during this period when the world is preparing to celebrate International Women’s Day.
