Steven's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy a delivery vehicle to reach more customers who could not previously afford clean drinking water.

Steven's story

Steven's previous Kiva loan funded all the necessary costs to get his franchise up and running, including storefront build-out, staff training, support overhead, and sourcing including shipping and installation of his Jibu water filtration unit.

Steven has been able to create demand for the water in his community, however, most of the customers request for door-to-door water deliveries. This new loan will help him to acquire a delivery Tuk Tuk to serve and reach more customers in his community.

Jibu is a social enterprise pioneering a powerful new model that capitalizes and equips entrepreneurs in emerging market communities to own businesses that ensure access to basic human necessities, with water as an anchor product. Jibu has scaled a network of locally owned, financially independent, and self-sustaining franchises that provide safe drinking water to their communities while offering life-changing training and employment. The company’s vision is to train, finance, and grow a network of co-invested business owners like Steven, who will revolutionize the way critical resources are leveraged to develop essential infrastructure in emerging markets.
