Christine's story

Failure has never crossed Christine’s (a 35-year-old mom) mind, and that is why she thirsts for success. She hails from the Kitale area of Kenya. Thanks to her daily efforts, she has managed to give her family a good start.

She has a farm where she grows crops. She also earns income from a personal business.

The Kitale area is a favorable one for perishable crop farming, so Christine is seeking a 112,000 KES loan through Kiva's field partner Juhudi Kilimo to buy a motorbike that she will use to transport her perishable crop products to the market in a timely manner. Through the loan, her products will reach the market while they are still fresh and hence fetch a high price.

She is always working to improve her family’s living conditions, but her biggest dreams are to become independent, support her family by herself and to secure her children’s future.
