Leisongi's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase raw materials and ingredients to prepare delicious meals which will attract more customers to increase her income.

Leisongi's story

Leisongi is a smart and active 69-year-old mother. She has been a widow for the past four years now. She currently lives with her five grown up children in her compound but in different houses. Leisongi lives in a village which is located about 15 minutes' drive from Port Vila's international airport. Her village is very large, and the main activity is agriculture. Though Covid-19 has affected Vanuatu, making an income off agriculture has been satisfactory as there is high demand for local food products.

Leisongi has requested a loan to help her purchase raw materials and ingredients which she will use to prepare delicious meals for her valuable customers. She has been in this business for over a year now. It was tough when Covid-19 struck but since Vanuatu has been Covid free, her business is slowly growing. Leisongi also has four kava bars that the villagers pay rental fees to use. It has helped increase her revenue.
She now intends to build a permanent food stall so she can better accommodate her customers in all weather. Leisongi dreams of opening up her own restaurant where she can cook for visitors and locals that pass by.

This is Leisongi's second loan with South Pacific Business Development (Vanuatu) Ltd. She successfully repaid her first loan on time. She has set her heart on making her business grow so her children can benefit from it.
