Las Amigas Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy starch, cheese, eggs, butter, and other ingredients.

Las Amigas Group's story

This group is called Amigas and is made up of friends and neighbours of the city of Encarnación, all of them women. They are entrepreneurs who work hard to improve their lives and they take part in the poverty elimination programme.
Griselda, one of the members, sells "chipas", a popular maize-starch cheese-flavoured street snack in Paraguay, eaten all year round. Griselda is hard-working and spares no effort to earn money and make sure her loved ones have all that she was deprived of growing up and want for nothing. She is grateful for the opportunity to keep her business going.
She asks for the loan to buy starch, cheese, eggs, butter, and other ingredients.
Note: there is only one person in the picture, but this is a group loan. It was not possible to take a group picture because of pandemic-related restrictions.
