A loan helped to buy farm inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family during this global health crisis.
Elizabeth is a 36-year-old mother of three living in Nakuru, a town that lies 1,850 meters above sea level in the highlands of Kenya, making it a temperate climate that favors coffee, wheat, barley, maize, beans and potato farming. Elizabeth believes that with discipline, she is capable of attracting massive success. She feeds her family through mixed dairy and crop farming. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainty and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, are on the front line combating this pandemic through supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs at this difficult period. Elizabeth is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs, which she will use to improve her production and make more income to support her family during this global health crisis. A loan to her will be a proper way of uplifting her during this period when the world is preparing to celebrate International Women’s Day.
