Joan's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy agrovets products such as pesticides and animal drugs that she will stock in her shop and sell to her neighbor farmers.

Joan's story

To improve her housing conditions and to be able to offer a good education to her cute-looking child, currently in school, are the goals that motivate Joan to get up and work hard. She is a loving mother and a rural smallholder farmer from the Kapsowar area of Kenya. She is married to a fellow farmer. Her family's main source of income is crop farming. However, they are also involved in other agricultural activities. She also has a personal business.

The biggest problem that farmers from Kapsowar face is the huge deficit in terms of access to agrovets products such as pesticides and drugs to treat their animals. Juhudi Kilimo partnered with Kiva to provide financial services to smallholders around Kenya tries to correct it. Through these financial services, farmers from Kapsowar, like Joan, can now buy agrovets products for use on their farms and animals.

Joan is seeking a loan to buy agrovets products such as pesticides and animal drugs that she will stock her shop and sell to her neighbour farmers.

This intervention will help her fill the increasing demand for agrovets products in the market, and in the process, generate more income to repay the loan and improve the quality of life for her family. She also hopes to improve the conditions of her house.
