Mafanyikio Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock up on bags of coal to build on her initial capital.

Mafanyikio Group's story

Amuli is a client of the Hekima MFI and leader of the "Mafanyikio" village group. She is married, 37 years old, and the mother of four children who are all in school; her partner is a trader.

She is a coal seller, having started this business in 2009 with start-up funds received from her husband. Later she got involved with the Hekima programme for business support, over the course of which she has progressively developed.

With this new loan, she will buy supplies of bags of coal, which will build on her initial capital. The challenge in this activity is related to the lack of customer base. She would like her children to continue studying and to renovate her house.

Lastly, she thanks Hekima and partners for their support of non-bankable business owners in this context of the global crisis linked to COVID-19. The photo is only of the group leader because of COVID-19 in respect of social distancing measures.
