Lusiana's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy building materials and continue with her canteen business.

Lusiana's story

With the Fiji Meteorological Department announcing the likelihood for Fiji to face four to six tropical cyclones for the year, the economy is expected to face further obstacles as it struggles to recover from a recession which resulted in a 20% negative growth.

However, Lusiana is hopeful about the future. Locally and internationally, stories about the kindness of people amidst a global crisis have emerged as landlords cancel rents and as people reintroduced the Barter system.

The mother hopes to gain a loan to make minor repairs to her home and also buy the initial stock for a canteen. Her canteen will be operational from home with groceries, fuels and e-services available. Lusiana has also mapped out an emergency response plan and developed a business continuity plan as she hopes to run a business that will stay abreast in these challenging times.

As she faces a tomorrow filled with uncertainty, she knows that the future belongs to those who prepare for it today.
