A loan helped to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her farm production, which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Naum's story

Naum is a 31-year-old mother of two school-going children who believes that success has no shortcuts, but is only achieved through hard work. She lives in Kapcherop, a town surrounded by prime agricultural lands that favor large-scale grain farming, and dairy and crop farming. She is a mixed farmer with many years of farming experience. Through farming, Naum has turned her life around.

The major impediment to the development of smallholder farms in Kenya is lack of short-term credit facilities. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is working hard to support smallholder farmers in Kenya through financing, therefore guaranteeing their survival.

Naum is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs that she plans to use to improve her farm production, which has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Kindly support Naum in this first quarter of 2021.
