Carlisa's story
My name is Carlisa and I am a client of the Florida Women's Business Center in Delray Beach Florida. With the help of the FLWBC, I have been able to turn my dream of being a business owner into a reality. In 2017, I was diagnosed with LUPUS. It led me on a journey to find natural alternatives for everyday products. My illness prompted me to research herbs and homeopathic solutions to cut down on the intake of synthetic materials I put on and in my body. I began to realize that almost everything I consumed and used on my body daily contained synthetic and at times toxic chemicals and detergents. I began to read closely, all of the ingredients in many household items and personal care products and began substituting the products with comparable homeopathic alternatives. I started making my own soap and bath teas for friends and family and decided that women, especially women of color, suffer from a range of ailments that are compounded by the many toxins that we all come in contact with on a regular basis should have more natural personal care options to choose. Offering a natural alternative, made with love, for the ritual bath, something that we do every day, made sense to me.
