Xavier Enrique's story

Xavier Enrique, age 25, is a young micro-entrepreneur who lives in the city of Cartagena with his family. This entrepreneur studied mechanics and tools handling at SENA [a national apprenticeship and training program] and earned two technical certificates. He has more than five years' experience in this work.

Xavier took advantage of his knowledge and the development in the area where he lives to start his business, a shop making metal structures. He offers his clients a wide range of metal items, including bars, doors, windows, fences, and other structures. He has obtained very good profits from this work, and this has improved his family's quality of life.

Due to the pandemic, his sales and income were affected, but thanks to the economic reactivation, now his sales are increasing. To mitigate the impact of Covid-19, he is applying for a Kiva loan, his first financing from the Fundación Santo Domingo, to invest in the purchase of aluminum tubing, iron, cutting discs, paint, glass, etc.

Xavier thinks that the key to his business is to develop strategies for clients to access his services. Thus he will increase his productivity and obtain a greater profit margin, that will improve his family's quality of life. Please support him in his loan; it will be a success.
