Butema Kihenda Group's story

Rodgers is very enterprising man who lives in Hoima, Uganda. He is married and deals mainly in farming, growing various crops like maize beans and cabbages. He is the chairperson of Butema Kihemba group, which encourages fellow group members to guarantee each other to get financial assistance, which they have done. They have benefited from Kiva loans because each member is able to pay school fees for their children and each member has a business which accumulated daily capital to sustain their families.

However, Rodgers faces a challenge of pests and diseases, prolonged drought periods, and inadequate capital . He has therefore requested for a loan to buy pesticides and to pay labor.
