Pfungua Dzakanaka Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more maize from smallholder farmers to sell in the market to increase their income.

Pfungua Dzakanaka Group's story

Pfungua Dzakanaka is an association from Manica and has 11 members, most of whom are women. Pfungua Dzakanaka is a local designation that means improving one's well-being in an honest way.

The group has existed since 2016 and their main foci are maize commercialization and poultry. Besides these activities, the members of the group help each other by saving every month.

From 2017 until present, the group has been attending iDE training about finance education which has contributed to the members' growth. One of the members, Helena has recommended Kiva loans to her group partners since she had received good feedback from other borrowers.

Since the group has large clients that demand maize, the group's members are struggling to raise enough money to by more maize. This is why the group is requesting a Kiva loan to buy more maize from smallholder farmers to sell in the market to increase their income.
