A loan helped to expand her food business.

Sumaj Warmis Ven Group's story

The group consists of eight members, all of whom are friends as part a community with a board of directors of which Celia is the president. She is wearing the pink skirt and blue sweater. Felipa, holding an envelope in her hand, is the treasurer, and Julia, in the middle wearing the pink socks, is the secretary.

The loan Felipa is taking out is to expand her charquekan [a jerky-based dish] business and diversify and improve her income. It is the only income she has to support her family.

She has been working since she was very young. She did not finish school due to work because her father abandoned them when they were small. As the big sister she has to help out with the family income, and the work she does is very hard work for the good of her family and better days ahead.

Her goal is to keep working to continue to grow and help her family and her little girl.
