Marie's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 38-year-old Marie from Aberdeen branch. She is married with two children between the ages of 15 and 20 years old and both are currently attending school. Marie started this business because she wants to take care of her family.

Marie runs a retail table business and sells food stuffs and other assorted items to her customers around the community. Her other source of income is from her husband. She has been in this business for a year.

Marie says her greatest challenge is sometimes business is slow and prices too expensive.

Marie requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food stuffs, maggi, pepper, palm oil, salt, rice, and other assorted items, to increase her business. Marie says that the extra income from this loan will help her to take care of her family and to increase her business.

In the future, Marie would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
