Feride's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for the seeds needed for the planting of 3 hectares with onions and 3 hectares with potatoes so a rural woman will continue providing for her family.

Feride's story

Feride is 59 years old. She is married and has two children, with the oldest of the two married and father of a little son, who is the biggest joy in their family. Their family lives in the southeastern part of Albania.

Just like many other people in the region, she has animals and owns some land as well. She plants crops and veggies and of course some apple trees, which is very typical in this part of the country.

For the past 20 years, she has been planting onions and potatoes on her lands, and she rents also from other villagers since her sons have started to help her with her agricultural business.

"Last season was not very good as the big merchants could not export onions and potatoes, so we sold the harvest at a very low price, which caused us not to be able to save for the needed seeds for this year's planting season," said Feride during the interview.

This is Feride’s tenth time applying for a loan with ASF. Yet this time is different, because she is requesting it from Kiva, and she is excited. She is known and respected by all the people in the village for her personable, responsible, and loving nature.
