Josephine's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy farm inputs, which she plans to use to improve her production and make more income to support her family during this COVID-19 period.

Josephine's story

Josephine (ever smiling) is a 45-year-old single mother of three children living in Siongiroi, a town that hosts a number of elite athletes in Kenya. Josephine is a mixed dairy and crop farmer who has farmed for the past 20 years. Through farming, she has sent all of her children to school.

Josephine is seeking this loan to buy farm inputs, which she plans to use to improve her production and make more income to support her family during this COVID-19 period. Unlike local money lenders who charge exorbitant interest on loans, Juhudi Kilimo and Kiva have entered into a partnership that aims at improving the lives of smallholder farmers by providing them with loans and encouraging them to save. Be inspired to support Josephine and light up her hope for a happy life in this month of sharing love.
