Surupaina's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to pay for house repairs and to purchase food items to sell.

Surupaina's story

The effects of global climate change is greatly felt by small island nations such as Fiji. It can be seen in the frequent and intense cyclones that have damaged houses and affected the lives of thousands of people across the soft coral capital of the world.

Surupaina is one of those who felt the devastating effects TC Ana and TC Yasa which hit Fiji between December 2020 and January of this year that damaged her home and many of her family's belongings.

Surupaina and her family currently reside in an evacuation center where they are given food supplies and other things but she understands that she needs to earn an income for her family so that they can get back on their feet.

She kindly requests a loan so that she can fix the roof and windows of her home and clean and restore it so that her family can move back in. After that she plans to make food parcels worth $5 each and sell them to civil servants working on the next government station on the island.

Over the years Surupaina has made many friends, many of whom are willing to purchase her food packs just to help her out.
