Lenin Del Carmen's story

Lenin Del Carmen and her family live in Portoviejo. The city was struck by an earthquake on April 16, 2016 and now by the COVID-19 pandemic. The city is a important producer of greens, vegetables and tropical fruit consumed in the country.

A number of years ago Lenin Del Carmen set up a small store selling staple food goods in her house. Every day she sells a variety of products like rice, oil, tomato sauce, detergents, tuna, soft drinks, water, vegetables and fruit. Her customers prefer her as her products are always fresh.

At the beginning of the health crisis she did very poorly as she could not sell. But now things are improving little by little so she can continue to generate her income.

This loan will be used to buy bread, detergent, soap, bleach, cookies, caramels, snacks and pay for a variety of basic services, etc. Her dream is to make her store much bigger with a variety of products and for her family to enjoy good health.
