A loan helped to buy a small truck to help her to distribute inputs to smallholder farmers.

Ester's story

Ester is a 43-year-old Mozambican woman. She is married and lives in Manica province with her husband and their three children.

Recently Ester started working in agriculture, buying and selling good quality agricultural inputs. She has a small inputs shop where she sells a variety of certified seeds, fertilizers and pesticides.

During her activity, Ester realized the need to reach more clients since, most of them are smallholder farmers who have limitations to travel to buy seeds in her shop.

Ester started traveling by bus to other communities in order to sell her products. But, she realized that the process was inefficient since it was causing more costs and challenges instead of helping her in reaching more clients.

Ester decided to acquire a small truck to easily help her to get the inputs from the supplier to sell in various communities. Since she does not have enough resources, Ester is requesting her first Kiva loan to buy a small truck to help her to distribute inputs to smallholder farmers.
