My name is Alexia Lockhart owner of A Learning Domain Child Development Center. I am looking to expand A Learning Domain to include childcare services. Starting my own childcare has been my dream since I was a teenager working at my Godmother's Daycare. I knew before high school graduation that Education would be my career path. Since Graduation I have obtained over 12 years of childcare experience and counting. I am driven by a passion and purpose to teach. My background includes more than 12 years of extensive teaching experience, including working as, a Teacher/Teacher mentor for Duval County Public Schools, Duval Teachers Union Thinking Math Instructor, Adjunct Teacher for Florida State College of Jacksonville, Head Start Director, and Head Start Teacher/Teacher mentor. I'm currently a Public School kindergarten teacher and I'm running my business from home as a certified CPR instructor through American Red Cross. My credentials include a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, A.S. in Childcare Management and a FL Teaching Certification. I am knowledgeable about child development and Department of Children and families regulations through my solid work experience as a classroom teacher, childcare director, DCF introductory childcare course instructor for the Department of Children and Families. I have had an opportunity to function in a variety of educational settings. Since I've worked in an educational setting, I understand the level of professionalism and patience required for long-term success in the field. Given my years of practical work experience, my passion for teaching, and my solid teaching experience I'm prepared to make an immediate contribution to A Learning Domains growth and success.
