Alice's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy quality seeds so that she can expand her farming business and make more income to support her family.

Alice's story

Early every morning at 4 a.m., when the moon is going to sleep to give way to the scorching African sun, Alice, a 22-year-old mother, wakes up. She lives in Chuka, a remote area where crop farming is one of the main economic activities. She does crop and animal farming.

Unlike most microfinance loan institutions in Kenya, which have imposed very complicated procedures for loan acquisition, thereby discouraging smallholder farmers, Juhudi Kilimo is working closely with Kiva to make loan acquisition for smallholder farmers easy and convenient.

Through this intervention, the movement of funds in the rural communities has increased, thereby alleviating rural poverty.

The Chuka area, where Alice farms, has favorable conditions for crop farming, which is why she is seeking a loan to buy quality seeds so that she can expand her farming. Due to the good roads, good climate, and a good transportation network, she is sure that she will reap maximum profits and be able to increase her business.

Alice is very thankful in advance for your help and contribution. She is looking forward to your warm response.
