A loan helped to pay for livestock to resell to help her family.

Danaya Group's story

SALI is a Malian woman, aged 54, and the mother of two. For ten years, she has been raising livestock as a revenue-generating business, along with her farmer husband, who helps her keep sheep and care for them.

She turns to RMCR with the aim of making her livestock business prosperous. In the photo, she appears by herself along with her livestock due to COVID-19. The RMCR loan she took out is being used to purchase livestock (sheep and goats). Her supplies come from in and around the village, and sales of the livestock are made at the local market.

From her sales, she can generate at least 65,000 francs CFA in profit per cycle. Thus, the earnings from selling livestock enable her to meet certain needs: healthcare, schooling, clothing, and food for the children.

She has had no problems with RMCR/Kiva loans but has expressed worries regarding the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. For the future, her wish is to obtain more funding, so as to seize this great employment opportunity for the sake of her children.
