Maria's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy quality farm inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers, to use on her corn crop.

Maria's story

Maria is 41 years old and has two children who attend school. She enjoys farming, and, over the years, she has been able to provide a good life for her family. Maria is a competent farmer who has been raising dairy animals and growing different varieties of crops.

In Kenya, agriculture is one of the most competitive industries, especially because of the high costs of operations. Such costs include the price of land acquisition and inputs, which have skyrocketed. To meet these high costs, farmers have been forced to borrow from financial institutions that sometimes impose very complicated procedures for loan distribution.

Maria requested a loan from Juhudi Kilimo, which she will use to buy quality farm inputs, such as nutrient-rich fertilizers, to use on her corn crop. With these inputs, she will be assured of a good harvest that will consequently be reflected in her pocketbook.
