01_Thioce Ouest Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy fabrics and accessories to make garments and to resell them.

01_Thioce Ouest Group's story

This banc villageois was created in August 2008 and includes six determined women who live in the same area and who maintain good relationships based on community, friendship and solidarity. They have repaid numerous loans on time. Their main activity is trade.

Madame Awa, age 31, is the group's representative. She is raising her hand on the photo's right. She is married and the mother of one boy, who attends kindergarten.

Awa is a seamstress and runs a business making and selling garments. She gets her supplies and works at the central market where she has a sewing workshop and where she also runs her haberdashery. She has more than 15 years of experience.

Awa plans to use this loan to buy thread, rolls of poplin and trims to stock her haberdashery. She also plans to buy sheer and embroidered fabrics to make women's boubous, which she sells with a good profit margin. Awa's business is doing well, because she sells on credit and collects her money monthly.

Her profits allow her to contribute to tontines, save up money, pay for her rental space at the market and to manage her needs.
