Sharon's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy more bags of rice to sell.

Sharon's story

Sharon is a 29-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her elder sister and her two children in the Mongu district in Zambia. She sells rice. Sharon is requesting a Kiva loan to expand her business by buying more bags of rice to meet her customers' needs.

She plans to use the profit she earns to pay her children's school fees and to invest back into the community. Sharon will repay the ‘social interest’ on her loan by volunteering three hours per week as a CAMFED Learner Guide, facilitating classes from CAMFED’s ‘My Better World’ program with students at her local secondary school, helping to build children’s self-esteem and motivating them to remain in school.
