Marc's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped a black contractor purchase another vehicle and trailer in order to hire employees and expand.

Marc's story

I grew up in California, in the Silicon Valley with my three brothers and my sister. My father learned to build and repair airplanes in the Navy, and my mother was a Secretary, so it was a middle-class existence, with a close loving family. I Began my floor covering apprenticeship in 1993. A couple of buddies were doing it, so I tried it, and I loved the work and the comradery. I married my wonderful wife of 21 years in 2000. I started contracting residential floors in quaint little New England town north of Boston, where I had moderate success until the recession in 2009. Subsequently, I started working for a flooring company that specialized in commercial/industrial flooring. My father taught us to be eco-conscious, and this company was very eco-conscious. A perfect fit. I loved it. I moved to Oregon in 2016 to join my mother and the rest of my clan, who all decided to move to the Rogue Valley from all over the country to be together, and to work together. Since that time, my uncle started a church. My brothers have started a BB-Q business, and an apparel company respectively. My niece has started an apparel company, and my nephew and I have started Pro Edge Floor Covering. My dream is to grow Pro Edge to point that it provides work for future generations of our clan for decades to come, and to retire, around all of my loved ones, on land our clan will purchase and develop.
