01_Dagga Gorom Group's story

This Banc Villageois, established in the area in December 2019, is made up of two brave women who live in the same village and share the same social values of good neighbourliness and solidarity and conduct the same business activities.

The representative, Madam Aïssatou, is 45 years old and can be seen on the left of the picture raising her hand. She is married and the mother of seven children, four girls and three boys, and four of them are in school.

Aïssatou works in the processing and sale of couscous at the local market. Alongside this, she also sells a variety of cooking utensils in the neighbourhood and has three years' experience doing this.

She is going to buy 10 bags of millet and 10 bags of maize, of 50kg each, to produce couscous that she will sell for cash. She manages to sell her products without great difficulty and the utensils are often sold on credit.

The profits allow her to save for the Banc Villageois, build up working capital and contribute to her family’s daily expenses.
