A loan helped to buy feed and medicine for her chickens.

Ana María's story

Ana María is married and has ten adult children. Her husband is a farmer. They live in Jipijapa, which is known as the "sultana of coffee" for its vast plantations of this crop.

She is a hard worker looking for ways to earn an income to help her husband cover their household expenses. She used to work selling clothing and shoes but now she has a small farm where she raises chickens. She buys them as chicks and raises them for three months. When they reach the right weight she sells them to nearby residents by the pound or to merchants who come to buy from her. She stopped selling clothing when the pandemic began.

She will use this loan to buy feed and medicine for her chickens.
