Amelia's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to stock kava products to sell.

Amelia's story

Amelia is a very busy lady, looking after five children and two elderly parents. With her hands tied, she cannot afford to work elsewhere to earn a living for her family but she can operate a business from within her home, one that she can easily tend to and keep an eye on while carrying out her other duties. After careful thinking and proper planning, she decided that a kava business would be the best and most profitable venture to start.

She kindly requests a loan that will help her set up her own kava business. She will utilize the money to purchase bundles of dried kava from the nearby farmers and have them pounded and packed into various sized packs. The demand for kava is very high in her village community so she is pretty sure that her kava business will be up and running in no time. The men and women of her village love to gather around a basin of kava - a drink prepared by pounding the dried piper methysticum, which is then mixed in water depending on the preference of the consumers.
