A loan helped to buy a cow.

Noong Luong 35 Group's story

Xien, 61, lives with her husband and son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. Her family is quite large, so she wants to borrow capital to raise her income.

Her family lives in a small house in a poor village in Dien Bien province. Her family is the main farmer. Only her son works with a salary, but the salary is meager enough to cover living expenses. She and her daughter-in-law generate additional income by growing rice, raising chickens and raising cows, but this income is unstable and seasonal.

Therefore, she decided to borrow the ninth loan round of the Anh Chi Em Program after having made excellent repayment of the previous loan rounds. In the previous round, Xien invested in raising chickens and has earned profits from that. This time she wants to invest in buying cows. With her 10 years of experience in raising cows and the technical assistance of the Anh Chi Em Program, she will surely be successful in raising cows. Profits from selling cows will continue to invest in raising cows because they are easy to take care of and save money on buying food for them. Xien hopes her family will improve their income in the future.
