Nellie's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase a drum of mazut fuel to stock up and sell to better provide for her customers and increase her income.

Nellie's story

Nellie is 60 years of age, and is happily married to a local farmer. She has five grown up children; unfortunately she lost one of her children to an illness.

Nellie lives with her husband and children in her own house, which is located on the northern side of Efate island. Her community is quite large, and the main industry is agriculture. Vanuatu is also being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic which has made it difficult at times to earn a steady income.

Nellie has requested a loan so she can purchase a drum of mazut fuel to stock up and resell to her valuable customers. She wants to purchase more drums so she can provide for her customers high demands.

She has just started her business in early 2020. Seeing the high demand of mazut fuel in her community has given her the initiative to start the business.

With the revenue earned, she will use to make a better toilet for her family and renovate her home.

This is Nellie's third loan with the South Pacific Business Devlopment (Vanuatu) Ltd. She has faithfully repaid her previous loans on a timely manner. Through her loans, Nellie is motivated to expand her business so she can become a successful businesswoman.
