Margarita Auxiliadora, 31, lives in a common-law marriage and has a 6-months-old daughter. They live in their own house in Rocafuerte, a place well-known for its traditional artisan desserts, made from recipes handed down from generation to generation.

Margarita Auxiliadora is a lab technician, and earns a monthly salary from working in a private laboratory Monday through Saturday. In addition, together with her mother, she has a small grocery store at home where she sells a variety of products such as rice, sugar, oil, detergents, vegetables, and fruits.
