Marry's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase bags of rice and diapers to resell to increase her income and improve the living conditions of her family.

Marry's story

Marry lives in a rural area, which is located about a 10 minute drive to Port Vila's international airport. Her community is quite large and the main industry is fishing and agriculture.

As Vanuatu is going through its cyclone season, it has been raining a lot, causing floods and crops to die out and making it hard to earn a steady income.

Marry is 35 years of age. She has her partner, who is a carpenter. Marry has only one child, who is 3 years old. She lives with her partner and child in a small, thatch house with a relative.

Marry has asked for a loan so she can pay for bags of rice and diapers, which she can resell to her community. She has seen the high demand for these products, as a lot of the retail shops usually run out of stock or are closed when customers need them, so Marry wants to be a supplier.

With the revenue she earns, Marry will save up so she can purchase a piece of land and build her family their own home. She is a hardworking mother, who wants to provide a better living for her family.
