Gie Kawral Group's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy sheep to resell.

Gie Kawral Group's story

Mrs. Khady is a 59-year-old, small, light-skinned woman. She is in charge of the Economic Interest Group "KAWRAL". She is the one holding the sheep in the picture.
Widowed, she lives with her 6 grandchildren aged between 2 and 12 years old and only two of them go to school. She takes care of their school fees thanks to the profit from her sheep breeding business.

Mrs. Kady, an uneducated Senegalese, has been in the business for over 20 years. She applied for a loan to buy sheep. She buys her supplies at the weekly markets of her village and in the surrounding villages. She resells them in the same places after a few months. She receives a profit that allows her to provide for her grandchildren's needs: food, medical expenses, and schooling.

The difficulties she encounters in her business are the recurrent livestock thefts and sometimes the death of the subjects at certain times of the year, in the rainy season for example. Despite all these difficulties, she manages to get by, just like her partners in the group.
