Endam Nafore Foulamory Group's story

Salimatou is the president of the group "Endam Nafore Foulamory" [Solidarity and Importance]. She's the one holding the sheep in the photo. She is 33 years old and she has been breeding sheep for 9 years. She is married and a mother of 4 children aged between 6 and 14 years old. Salimatou is illiterate. Her husband is a farmer.

This loan will help all the members of the group, 9 women in total, to buy sheep. With her share of the loan, Salimatou is planning to buy sheep in the surrounding villages and resell them at the weekly markets in her locality.
Her dream is that her children are able to go to school and help her in the future. With her profits, she is managing to help her husband pay for their children's school fees and medical expenses. Access to financial institutions is the main challenge she is facing.
