Ajout-Dinaa Medina Elhadji Group's story

Mrs. ASSY is the president of the group "AJOUT-DINAA MEDINA ELHADJI" (which means belief in the Peuhl language). She is the one holding the goat in the picture. She is 36 years old. She has been in the breeding business for 7 years. She is married and the mother of 7 children aged between 2 and 17. Only 4 of her children are old enough to go to school and they all go. Mrs ASSY is not educated. Her husband is a development worker.

This loan is for all the members of the group (9 women), in order to buy sheep. Mrs. ASSY buys her sheep at the weekly markets of her area. She resells them in these markets after several months of fattening. With the profit she earns, she manages to help her husband pay for school fees, medical expenses, food for her children. She would like her children to continue their studies in the biggest schools in the country so that they could help her in the future.

The problems she faces in order to carry out her business are financial.
