A loan helped to purchase sugar, milk, and other assorted items to increase her business.

Hajaratu's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 43-year-old Hajaratu from Wilberforce branch. She is a single parent with two children between the ages of 15 and 23 years old; both of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Hajaratu runs a retail business and sells provisions and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 1 year now. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this COVID-19 pandemic.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase provisions (sugar, milk, and other assorted items) to increase her business. Hajaratu says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to grow her business to a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
