A loan helped to purchase food stuffs: rice, oil, palm oil, and other assorted items to increase her business.

Jestina's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 50-year-old Jestina from Wilberforce branch. She is a widow with two children between the ages of 13 and 19 years old, and both of them are attending school. She started this business to care for herself and support her family.

Jestina runs a retail business and sells food stuffs like rice, palm oil and other assorted items. She has been in this business for 25 years now. Her other source of income come from her rentals. Her main challenge is slow sales sometimes during this Covid-19.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase food stuffs like rice, oil, palm oil, and other assorted items to increase her business. Jestina says that the extra income from this loan will help to improve her business and take care of her family's welfare. In the future, she would like to establish her business at a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
