A loan helped to buy farming inputs to improve her production.

Beatrice's story

Beatrice is a 22-year old single mother with one child who has never taken her eyes off the path of success. She lives in Sotik, home of champions. Beatrice has supported her family through mixed dairy and crop farming for the past five years.

Beatrice is seeking this loan to buy farming inputs, which she plans to use to improve her production and make more income for her family this first quarter of 2021. The Covid-19 pandemic has posed a significant threat to the economy of Kenya, causing a lot of uncertainties and disrupting food supply chains. Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, is in the forefront line in combating this pandemic by supporting smallholder farmers and micro-entrepreneurs during this difficult period. Beatrice hopes that Kiva lenders will respond positively to her loan request.
