Dorah's loan finished fundraising,
but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to buy cereals grains (beans and maize) to sell in her village market, and as a mom, she will use the profits to support her children.

Dorah's story

Determination is the main driving force that keeps Dorah, a 52-year-old mom of two school-going children, moving forward. She is a determined smallholder farmer, despite the challenges she faces in life, at home, and in her farming business. She acknowledges that challenges are there to make her grow stronger each day.

Dorah is very creative and has the ability to come up with unique new responses to situations. She has the insight to recognize and take up useful new approaches to farming.

Kenya's Vihiga area, one of the country's populated regions, has a high demand for cereals. This means that Dorah could increase her profits and satisfy the demand that is there. She is seeking this loan to buy cereals, which she will sell to her customers and earn extra income to support her children who are in school.

Accessing funds has been a challenge for Dorah, but since she joined Juhudi Kilimo, in partnership with Kiva, she feels relieved and happy that her life has transformed. Kindly lend to this determined, humble woman.
