but these similar borrowers just need a little more help to reach their goals!

A loan helped to purchase hybrid seeds and fertilizer to improve harvests of maize.

Amos' Group's story

Pictured above is Amos, often described as an extremely friendly person. He is 59 years old and has eight children. As a group leader, he is representing 14 farmers in Teso District, Kenya.

Amos is returning this season to work with One Acre Fund because it means he is able to have access to quality training and acquire new farming methods, which is why he decided to join in the first place. Amos says that he is happy to have made that decision because since he first joined in 2016, he has gained alot of respect in his community, which has improved his day-to-day life significantly. Amos will use the profits from this season to buy a cow.

The group will use this loan to purchase seeds and fertilizer to plant a total of 10.75 acres. Some members of the group will also be purchasing a total of three solar lights with this loan.
